Emergency Eclipse Instructions
Please forward this to EVERYONE in the path of the total eclipse today, August 21, 2017 immediately.
NASA and the United States Government have released the following statement.
A NOTICE TO ALL INDIVIDUALS IN THE PATH OF THE TOTAL ECLIPSE
- Do not look directly at the sun during the eclipse, regardless of the use of protective eye wear.
- Please seek immediate shelter during the eclipse. If you are unable to be indoors during or immediately following the eclipse, please do not try to contact emergency personnel, friends, or relatives.
- If you come into contact with anyone outside during or immediately following the eclipse, do not make any form of contact.
- Immediately following the eclipse, do not make any noise louder than a whisper until you are retrieved by emergency personnel.
- When emergency personnel attempts to make contact, do not respond right away. Wait until you are sure that the person making contact is real.
- In the event that no contact is made by the emergency crew in the 48 hours following the eclipse, stay inside as long as your provisions allow before venturing outside.
- If you notice any strange rashes on your skin or any thoughts you believe may not be your own, quarantine yourself at once.
We apologize for the short notice, and hope that this message doesn’t get out too late.
May God forgive us.
